Service Description: This data set depicts lands that contain active (authorized or pending) mining related activities that are Authorized or Acknowledged under BLM Mining Regulations (43 CFR 3809) within the State of Alaska. Every identified section is related to at least one Plan of Operations or Notice (for exploration). The data is generalized to the nearest PLSS section (640 acres). This data set was created as part of a statewide effort to track active mining related surface activities authorized or acknowledged by the BLM on BLM managed lands.
