The Land Use Authorization dataset represents authorization of land use on public lands, including Rights-of-Way (ROW), Leases, Permits, Recreation & Public Purposes (R&PP’s), Communication Sites, and Easements (excluding 17(b) easements), under principles of multiple use and sustained yield, in accordance with land use plans allowing the holder to use, maintain, occupy, or develop public lands authorized for the purposes listed in Title III and V of Federal Lands Policy Management Act (FLPMA), the Mineral Leasing Act (MLA), and pre-FLPMA statutes.
The Land Use Authorization dataset represents authorization of land use on public lands.
