All input layers have been clipped to the extent of a statewide 1:63,000 coastline layer.
Source input layers have been acquired from multiple local, state, and federal agencies on varying dates. The output is only as good as the input layers. The process to convert each acquired layer to match a standardized data schema may result in generalized and/or inaccurate information in the final product.
Attributes are populated through an automated process by cross-walking acquired source data to a standardized data schema.
The horizontal accuracy is contingent upon the quality of the various input layers.
The Willow to Nome trail name is an informal placeholder name for the contiguous regional trails between Willow and Nome that have been used by the Iditarod Sled Dog Race annually since at least the early 2000’s. The Willow to Nome trail location data was gathered via recreation grade non-DGPS receivers between 2006 and 2009 by Alaska Department of Natural Resources employees and volunteers. See ADNR 2011 metadata for details. It is not known how location data was gathered for ADNR Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, Chugach State Park, and Chugach National Forest trails, and what processing steps were undertaken. Contact the respective land management agencies for further information.
