A Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Administrative Unit is a geographic area in which an organizational unit of the BLM has distinct jurisdictional responsibility for land and resource management activities occurring on the public lands, the maintained rights of the United States (i.e. mineral estate) and actions relating to the Trust responsibilities of the U.S. Government as stipulated in Law or Treaty.
This featureclass represents active BLM administrative unit boundary polygons. These polygons should represent lower level administrative units. Higher level administrative units may be derived from the attribution in this feature class. Each BLM state is responsible for the changes to the boundaries, the state data steward or the designated person for the state will be responsible for the creation and update of the boundaries.
This featureclass should be used to document the physical boundary of an administrative unit. In some cases, the administrative unit may manage areas outside of the boundary for other programs’ purposes. Please refer to the BLM Administrative Unit (Boundaries) Data Standard Report for the full list and detailed descriptions of the business rules that govern the data standard, and this implementation.

This data is in the process of being topologically aligned with Arizona's Public Land Survey System (PLSS). Attribute accuracy was tested by validating attribute coded values against accepted domain values, checking that alpha-numeric values followed a valid format, and checking that numeric values were greater than zero.
Foundational to this data is the expectation that it topologically aligns where possible and appropriate with the official published version of BLM Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CAD NSDI) GIS Data. Topology rules: ADMU polys and arcs must not overlap.
Dataset is considered in progress for the information presented.
Approximately + or - 40 feet. Test by visual comparison of hard copy check plots against source material and/ or verifying the location of the data on screen relative to other data layers in the same geographic area. Although this data is work in progress, its spatial accuracy can be found from the reliability and/or the error in X, Y coordinates contained in the PLSS Points feature class. This represents the best estimate of spatial accuracy on a point-by-point basis.

At the time of removal, these boundaries were considered duplicative of the NM and NCA boundaries depicted in the National Land Conservation System (NLCS) featuredataset. These boundaries were placed back into the featureclass upon further review by the Arizona State Data Administrator and newly appointed subject matter expert on 03.10.2020.

A Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Administrative Unit is a geographic area in which an organizational unit of the BLM has distinct jurisdictional responsibility for land and resource management activities occurring on the public lands, the maintained rights of the United States (i.e. mineral estate) and actions relating to the Trust responsibilities of the U.S. Government as stipulated in Law or Treaty.
These polygons should represent lower level administrative units (Field Office boundaries). Higher level administrative units may be derived from the attribution in this feature class. This feature class should be used to document the physical boundary of an administrative unit. In some cases, the administrative unit may manage areas outside of the boundary for other programs’ purposes. Please refer to the BLM Administrative Unit (Boundaries) Data Standard Report for the full list and detailed descriptions of the business rules that govern the data standard, and this implementation.
Each BLM state is responsible for the changes to the boundaries, the state data steward or the designated person for the state will be responsible for the creation and update of the boundaries.

Although this data is work in progress, its spatial accuracy can be found from the reliability and/or the error in X, Y coordinates contained in the PLSS Points feature class. This represents the best estimate of spatial accuracy on a point-by-point basis.
This data is in the process of being topologically aligned with Arizona's Public Land Survey System (PLSS). Attribute accuracy was tested by validating attribute coded values against accepted domain values, checking that alpha-numeric values followed a valid format, and checking that numeric values were greater than zero.
Foundational to this data is the expectation that it topologically aligns where possible and appropriate with the official published version of BLM Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CAD NSDI) GIS Data. Topology rules: ADMU polys and arcs must not overlap.
