This polygon featureclass represents the spatial extent and boundaries for Bureau of Land Management (BLM) grazing pastures. A grazing pasture is simply a subset of a grazing allotment, where the grazing of livestock occurs. An allotment has one or many pastures, or an allotment can have no pastures on it at all.
This featureclass represents the polygon features that show the boundaries for the grazing pastures located in Arizona as part of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) grazing program. These pasture attributes may be duplicated in range-land administration system (RAS), but are considered minimum information for unique identification and cartographic purposes.
A published revision of the Department Manual’s Part 305: Departmental Science Effects, Chapter 3: Integrity of Scientific and Scholarly Activities (305 DM 3), effective December 16, 2014, is available online at http://elips.doi.gov/ELIPS/DocView.aspx?id=4056. Attribution review was conducted at the Arizona State BLM office in 2018 and again in 2019-2020. This review consisted of comparisons between spatial grazing allotment data and range-land administration system (RAS) reporting to verify the accuracy of numerical allotment identification.
Foundational to this data is the expectation that it topologically aligns where possible and appropriate with the official published version of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CAD NSDI) GIS Data. Source dataset is run through a series of tests to verify that the data complies with the format specified in the Data Standard. ERRORS AND INCONSISTENCIES MAY STILL BE PRESENT IN THE DATA. Topology rules: ADMU polys and arcs must not overlap.
This data is assumed to be accurate though no official completeness tests were performed at the time of its generation. Errors by omission and generalization may be present. No data standards were in place at the time of data creation. Therefore, many process steps may be untraceable and not reproducible. Continued data validation from field office subject matter experts may be required.
Accuracy based on tablet digitized boundaries from 1:24,000 topo inventory maps.

This handbook discusses how the BLM operates with regard to data development and design, quality, metadata, and business rules. The information this resource contains also pertains to geospatial data.
Using the implementation guidelines, GIS staff at BLM field and state offices cross-walk and clean up their data to comply with the standardized national dataset. Then, the BLM field and/or state offices submit the data to the National Operations Center (NOC), where it is compiled to produce seamless national datasets. This process of data replication to the National Operations Center is intended to occur on a monthly basis.
