Abstract: This point feature class represents the physical locations of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) statewide recreation sites for Arizona. This general types of recreation point features depicted in this feature class include information center sites, water-based sites, overnight sites, day use sites, restrooms, water access, recreational access, parking areas, airplane landing strips, etc. The recreation sites data standard is intended to help answer questions that consumers of recreation data may pose regarding recreation areas/sites, facilities, and/or opportunities . This standard aims to serve the improvement of sharing, maintenance, and analysis of Bureau-wide recreation data.

Purpose: These point features depict physical locations for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recreation sites within Arizona.

Although this data is work in progress, its spatial accuracy can be found from the reliability and/or the error in X, Y coordinates contained in the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) points feature class. This represents the best estimate of spatial accuracy on a point-by-point basis.

Measure description: The accuracy of attributes in this dataset reflects that of the source datasets. Attribute accuracy was tested by validating attribute coded values against accepted domain values, checking that alpha-numeric values followed a valid format, and checking that numeric values were greater than zero. In some cases Range Management Plans (RMPs) were used as cross-references for confirmation attribution such as 'name' and 'feature type'. Measure description: Foundational to this data is the expectation that it topologically aligns where possible and appropriate with the official published version of BLM Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CAD NSDI) GIS Data. The expected overall accuracy (correctness) of the non-spatial data values in the required attribute fields should be 95%. This accuracy is a target and is dependent on data from a variety of sources. Each section of attributes may be measured separately but the overall accuracy target is 95% for the data values.
