This polygon featureclass represents the boundaries of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) statewide recreation areas for Arizona. The general types of recreation polygon features depicted in this featureclass include campgrounds, off-highway vehicles (OHV) designated areas, recreation management zones (RMZs), extensive recreation management areas (ERMAs), special recreation management areas (SRMAs), and natural/endangered areas, etc.
The purpose of this polygon feature class is to show the boundaries for Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recreation sites within Arizona. The recreation sites data standard is intended to help answer questions that consumers of recreation data may pose regarding recreation areas/sites, facilities, and/or opportunities . This standard aims to serve the improvement of sharing, maintenance, and analysis of Bureau-wide recreation data.
A published revision of the Department Manual Part 305: Departmental Science Effects, Chapter 3: Integrity of Scientific and Scholarly Activities (305 DM 3), effective December 16, 2014, is available online at http://elips.doi.gov/ELIPS/DocView.aspx?id=4056. Scholarly information considered in Departmental decision making must be robust, of the highest quality, and the result of as rigorous scientific and scholarly processes as can be achieved. The accuracy of attributes in this dataset reflects that of the source datasets. Attribute accuracy was tested by validating attribute coded values against accepted domain values, checking that alpha-numeric values followed a valid format, and checking that numeric values were greater than zero. In some cases Range Management Plans (RMPs) were used as cross-references for confirmation attribution such as 'name' and 'feature type'. Please contact the GIS Manager for additional information on provenance, history, accuracy and quality of the data.
Foundational to this data is the expectation that it topologically aligns where possible and appropriate with the official published version of BLM Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CAD NSDI) GIS Data. The expected overall accuracy (correctness) of the non-spatial data values in the required attribute fields should be 95%. This accuracy is a target and is dependent on data from a variety of sources. Each section of attributes may be measured separately but the overall accuracy target is 95% for the data values.
Dataset is considered in progress for the information presented. Maintenance to be performed as needed.
The expected horizontal accuracy is +/- 40 feet at a 24,0000 scale. Although this data is work in progress, its spatial accuracy can be found from the reliability and/or the error in X, Y coordinates contained in the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) points feature class. This represents the best estimate of spatial accuracy on a point-by-point basis.

This official BLM Data Management handbook contains information about how data is administered, managed, and tracked. This handbook discusses how the BLM operates with regard to data development and design, quality, metadata, and business rules. The information this resources contains also pertains to geospatial data.
Using the implementation guidelines, GIS staff at BLM field and state offices cross-walk and clean up their data to comply with the standardized national dataset. Then, the BLM field and/or state offices submit the data to the National Operations Center (NOC), where it is compiled to produce seamless national datasets.

Using the implementation guidelines and range management plans, GIS staff at the BLM Arizona State Office (ASO) reviewed existing features in the recs feature-dataset and uploaded range management zones (RMZs), Extensive Recreation Management Area (ERMAs), and Special Recreation Management Area (SRMAs) based on data provided by field and district offices. Any questions regarding data were posed to GIS Specialists at these offices and/or subject matter experts at the ASO.

Third-party contractor added ERMA (Extensive Recreation Management Area), SRMA (Sensitive Recreation Management Area), and RMZ (Range Management Zone) data to the recs_poly featureclass on behalf of the AZ GIS Team. Polygon footprints were provided by field offices and added to the RECs feature-dataset to capture established ERMAs, SRMAs, and RMZs. This effort was a continuation of work done by interns on behalf of the AZ BLM Outdoor Recreation Team in 2019. As of 12.07.2020, the RECs feature-dataset does not have an updated schema to account for all of the ERMA/SRMA/RMZ attribution but the update is anticipated.

This polygon feature class represents the boundaries of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) statewide recreation areas for Arizona. The recreation sites data standard is intended to help answer questions that consumers of recreation data may pose regarding recreation areas/sites, facilities, and/or opportunities . This standard aims to serve the improvement of sharing, maintenance, and analysis of Bureau-wide recreation data.
The general types of recreation polygon features depicted in this feature class include campgrounds, off-highway vehicles (OHV) designated areas, recreation management zones (RMZs), extensive recreation management areas (ERMAs), special recreation management areas (SRMAs), and natural/endangered areas, etc.
The purpose of this polygon feature class is to show the boundaries for Bureau of Land Management (BLM) AZ recreation sites within Arizona.

The expected horizontal accuracy is +/- 40 feet at a 24,0000 scale. Although this data is work in progress, its spatial accuracy can be found from the reliability and/or the error in X, Y coordinates contained in the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) points feature class. This represents the best estimate of spatial accuracy on a point-by-point basis.
The accuracy of attributes in this dataset reflects that of the source datasets. Attribute accuracy was tested by validating attribute coded values against accepted domain values, checking that alpha-numeric values followed a valid format, and checking that numeric values were greater than zero. In some cases Range Management Plans (RMPs) were used as cross-references for confirmation attribution such as 'name' and 'feature type'. Please contact the GIS Manager for additional information on provenance, history, accuracy and quality of the data.
Foundational to this data is the expectation that it topologically aligns where possible and appropriate with the official published version of BLM Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CAD NSDI) GIS Data. The expected overall accuracy (correctness) of the non-spatial data values in the required attribute fields should be 95%. This accuracy is a target and is dependent on data from a variety of sources. Each section of attributes may be measured separately but the overall accuracy target is 95% for the data values.
Dataset is considered in progress for the information presented. Maintenance to be performed as needed.
Using the implementation guidelines, GIS staff at BLM field and state offices cross-walk and clean up their data to comply with the standardized national dataset. Then, the BLM field and/or state offices submit the data to the National Operations Center (NOC), where it is compiled to produce seamless national datasets.

Any questions regarding data were posed to GIS Specialists at these offices and/or subject matter experts at the ASO.

Third-party contractor added ERMA (Extensive Recreation Management Area), SRMA (Sensitive Recreation Management Area), and RMZ (Range Management Zone) data to the recs_poly feature class on behalf of the AZ GIS Team. Polygon footprints were provided by field offices and added to the RECs feature-dataset to capture established ERMAs, SRMAs, and RMZs. This effort was a continuation of work done by interns on behalf of the AZ BLM Outdoor Recreation Team in 2019. As of 12.07.2020, the RECs feature-dataset does not have an updated schema to account for all of the ERMA/SRMA/RMZ attribution but the update is anticipated.

This data depicts public land areas in the SPRNCA where discharge of firearms or other weapons for hunting is not allowed around occupied or developed areas.
Description
This data depict the decision made in the SPRNCA Approved Resource Management Plan to allow hunting with fireams throughout the SPRNCA except in designated safety zones where discharge of firearms and other weapons is not allowed for hunting.
Decision Approved RMP July 2019, page 2-17. "ama-REC-16: Hunting with firearms is allowed throughout the SPRNCA, with the exception of a portion of the Rural RMZ around the San Pedro House and areas one-quarter mile from associated recreation facilities (totaling 5,410 acres), in accordance with AZGFD hunting regulations and public land regulations for developed sites and areas (see Figure 2-10).
