Travel management planning is necessary for designating and providing appropriate access to and across public lands for a variety of uses. Travel management plans (TMPs) and off-highway vehicle (OHV) areas are developed as part of the Land Use Planning process. This polygon feature class represents the spatial extent and boundaries for existing Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) polygons as part of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Travel Management Areas and Plans (TMAP). OHV polygons are purposed to show the existing OHV designation of the OHV area. An existing OHV polygon can have an "Open", "Limited", "Closed" or "Un-designated" status. The OHV designations refer to Land Use Planning (LUP) decisions (allocations) that permit, establish conditions, or prohibit OHV activities on specific areas of public lands. In 2020, the BLM Arizona State Office (ASO) Geospatial Information System (GIS) team initiated geoprocessing steps for the "ohv_exist_poly" feature class in order to establish more precise polygon boundaries. These steps are documented within the Lineage section of this metadata, but are not reflected in the footprints within the ohv_exist_arc feature class. Please note that during geoprocessing efforts, various "slivers" were created in the ohv_exist_poly feature class due to topology validation errors within Range Management Plan (RMP) footprints. Slivers are most pronounced in the following footprints: Lake Havasu field office RMP, Las Cienegas National Conservation Area (NCA) RMP, Yuma RMP, and the Arizona Strip field office RMP. It is the intent of the BLM ASO GIS team to remove slivers and align the TMAP dataset boundaries once updates are made available in reference feature-datasets such as Surface Management Agency (SMA) and Public Land Survey System (PLSS). Although this data is work in progress, its spatial accuracy can be found from the reliability and/or the error in X, Y coordinates contained in the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) points feature class. This represents the best estimate of spatial accuracy on a point-by-point basis. Attribute accuracy is tested by manually comparing hard copy plots of the digital data with source materials or by interactively querying and verifying on the screen. This data will be topologically aligned with Arizona's Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and other related datasets such as Surface Management Agency (SMA) boundaries and associated feature classes within Travel Management Areas and Plans (TMAP). Foundational to this data is the expectation that it topologically aligns where possible and appropriate with the official published version of BLM Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CAD NSDI) GIS Data. The expected overall accuracy (correctness) of the non-spatial data values in the required attribute fields should be 95%. This accuracy is a target and is dependent on data from a variety of sources. Each section of attributes may be measured separately but the overall accuracy target is 95% for the data values. Dataset is considered in progress for the information presented. The "ohv_exist_poly" feature class was clipped to the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM's) Surface Management Agency (SMA) polygon boundaries for Arizona and California. It was also clipped to designated polygons of the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) SMA boundaries, and to two National Park Service (NPS) SMA boundaries within the Arizona Strip District Office (ASDO) footprint. Specifically, ohv_exist_poly was clipped to BOR and NPS SMA boundaries by use of the following structured query language (SQL) statement "OHV_Original where LUP_OHV_DSGNTN <> 'Undesignated' These geoprocessing clips did result in several slivers within the ohv_exist_poly feature class, however the BLM Arizona State Office (ASO) Geospatial Information System (GIS) team verified 178 records for the ohv_exist_poly feature class.
