The purpose of this polygon feature class is to show BLM Grazing Allotments within the BLM Administrative State of Nevada., which are areas of land designated and managed for grazing of livestock. It may include private, state, and public lands under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management and/or other federal agencies. An allotment is derived from its pastures, where the grazing of livestock is occuring.
These attributes of the BLM Grazing Allotment features may be duplicated in RAS, but are considered to be minimum information for unique identification and cartographic purposes.
This polygon feature class represents the spatial extent and boundaries for BLM Grazing Allotments within the BLM Administrative State of Nevada.

Using the implementation guidelines, GIS staff at BLM Nevada State Office cross-walk and clean up their data to comply with the standardized national dataset. Then, the BLM field and/or state offices submit the data to the National Operations Center (NOC), where it is compiled to produce seamless national datasets. This process of data replication to the National Operations Center is intended to occur on a monthly basis.
