Point features depicting the geographic locations for active BLM Administrative Unit Offices. This dataset accounts for the Utah BLM State Office, 5 District Offices, 11 Field Offices, 5 Visitor Centers and 1 Field Station. This aids in resource management allowing the public, state of other federal agencies to see where the appropriate BLM Office is for their need.
Data within these services are a live copy of BLM Utah's enterprise production environment. Quality control is conducted annually.
<purpose>Point features used to show the locations of BLM offices. Each physical location is represented with one point, where possible. One office location may administer more than one administrative unit. Likewise, more than one office may be co-located at one location. The feature class includes attributes to store feature level metadata information. Several attributes document the origin and characteristics of the points.</purpose>
<supplinf>The cities each office is located in are: Escalante Interagency Office/Visitor Center-Escalante, Utah GSENM Field Office-Kanab, Utah Kanab Field Office-Kanab, Utah Cedar City Field Office-Cedar City, Utah St. George Field Office-St. George, Utah Kanab Visitor Center-Kanab, Utah Cannonville Visitor Center-Cannonville, Utah Utah State Office-Salt Lake City, Utah Price Field Office-Price, Utah Moab Field Office-Moab, Utah Monticello Field Office-Monticello, Utah Salt Lake Field Office-West Valley City, Utah Vernal Field Office-Vernal, Utah Fillmore Field Office-Fillmore, Utah Henry Mtn. <srccontr>This official BLM Data Management handbook contains information about how data is administered, managed, and tracked. This handbook discusses how the BLM operates with regard to data development and design, quality, metadata, and business rules. <procdesc>Dataset was copied from gfnam_ut100 using city and town location for the center point. Each pojnt was renamed with the Field/State/Visitor Center name and office type (SO/FO or Visitor Center). Meta Data was started but not finished on the same date.
Using the implementation guidelines, GIS staff at BLM field and state offices cross-walk and clean up their data to comply with the standardized national dataset. Then, the BLM field and/or state offices submit the data to the National Operations Center (NOC), where it is compiled to produce seamless national datasets. This process of data replication to the National Operations Center is intended to occur on a monthly basis.</procdesc>

<attrdef>Accuracy Measurement In Feet: Defines how close, in feet, the actual ground location is to the spatial depiction in GIS. This value would typically be determined by one of three methods: 1) the map accuracy value, if a USGS map was used to define the boundary; 2) the expected spatial accuracy achieved with GPS; or 3) the measurement of that accuracy as is noted in the National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA)1 which is a data usability standard issued by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). A value of -1 indicates that the accuracy is unknown or that no reliable estimate can be made. 1 Federal Geographic Data Committee. 1998.
