BLM Wild Horse and Burro Herd Areas have been designated by The Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971 as areas that wild horses and burros appeared to be inhabiting. Herd areas were identified in 1971 but are not managed for wild horses or burros. Areas originally designated as Herd Areas also contain Herd Management Areas (HMAs). Management status can change based on changing conditions.\nData within these services are a live copy of BLM Utah's enterprise production environment. Quality control is conducted annually.",
