Service Description: This data set shows the Idaho Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Field Office, District Office and State Office boundaries and names as per the three-tier organization initiated in February 2007. A Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Administrative Unit is a geographic area in which an organizational unit of the BLM has distinct jurisdictional responsibility for land and resource management activities occurring on the public lands, the maintained rights of the United States (i.e. mineral estate) and actions relating to the Trust responsibilities of the U.S. Government as stipulated in Law or Treaty.The State Office is the top layer of the three-tier organization, with District Offices being the middle layer and providing coordination, oversight and support to the lowest level, the Field Office. Idaho has one State Office, four Districts and twelve Field Offices. This feature class documents the physical boundary of an administrative unit. In some cases, the administrative unit may manage areas outside of the boundary for other programs’ purposes - this datset does not show these areas. BLM Idaho administers a little land in Nevada also, which is included here.
