realty/BLM_ID_Supplemental_Master_Title_Plats_MTPs (ImageServer)

View In:   ArcGIS JavaScript   ArcGIS Online Map Viewer   ArcGIS Earth

Service Description: The BLM Master Title Plats (MTPs) are large-scale graphic representations showing current federal land status information. Whenever the plat is too small to adequately display the information, a supplemental plat is prepared on a larger scale. Usually not more than four sections appear on a supplemental plat. If a supplemental plat has been made, the Master Title Plat will indicate it. The Master Title Plat is the official Land Status record that portrays the current federal land status. Land status is based on the concepts of an original public domain of all potential surface and subsurface rights subject to appropriation over time. Appropriation encompasses actions that pass rights to and from the US, modify their spatial extents, assign managing federal agencies, impose and revoke restrictions on the rights, and grant and terminate authorized use of US rights. The MTPs display effects of appropriations produce the MTP as well as provide the ability to query views of the current federal land status. Users are reminded that MTPs are the official records for federal land status, along with the MTP's Historical Indices (HI). These documents are maintained at the BLM Idaho State Office and are available through the Government Land Office (GLO) website: https://glorecords.blm.gov. Due to the complexity of land status, users of this data should direct questions to realty specialists and/or for land status questions. Generalizations of this data or looking at only one component of this data without looking at the entire set of documents available through the GLO may not provide a complete picture of land status or authorizations made by federal agencies at any given location. The official Land Tenure Records maintained by the BLM and other responsible Federal agencies should always be checked for current status on specific tracts of land. Please report discrepancies in the land status themes to the BLM 957 Spatial Products – Land Status and Title Records Team from which it was obtained.
