The BLM OR Recreation Management Areas Map Service represents established BLM Recreation Management Areas within Oregon and Washington. A Recreation Management Area (RMA) are land units specifically managed to protect recreation opportunities since Recreation and Visitor Services objectives are recognized as the primary resource management consideration. RMAs are designated as either a special recreation management area (SRMA) or an extensive recreation management area (ERMA). SRMAs recognize unique and distinctive recreation values and are managed to enhance a targeted set of activities, experiences, benefits, and recreation setting characteristics. ERMAs represent areas where recreation is unstructured and dispersed with minimal regulatory constraints and where minimal recreation-related investments are required.
